ginger root

Dear Ones,

Striving to overcome Summer lethargy, event-cancellation despondency, and general psychological muck?

Try these fool-proof tricks (not sure what “fool-proof” means… but I think it’s something good):

1. Watch chickens. The live kind with all their feathers intact. Damn funny creatures, I’m telling you! (NOTE: the fried up kind or rotisserie style will NOT lift your mood).

2. Sip lemonade with a healthy dose of gin. Healthy, in this case, means HUGE. Gin is one of those happy liquors, right? (NOTE: if you are under the age of 21 or don’t do alcohol for religious reasons, please disregard this advice. I personally prefer root beer anyway).

3. Tell your boss, wife, children or warden that you are going to the grocery store…but INSTEAD… go see this movie: http://focusfeatures.com/moonrise_kingdom. No joke. I’ve seen it three times. I LOVE IT!

4. Come live with me. My family is great fun. Tim is adorable, Jodie is awesome, Matara is hilarious, Teva is charming. I’m kind of a pain-in-the-buttooschk… but there’s gotta be one in every family. It’ll be kind of crowded, but way more enjoyable than a sardine can. (This is not a homeless shelter kind of invitation, more like a funny farm).

So, I’m actually serious about getting the Pagan shenanigans up and going again. But I need to know that you want them. I’ve listed New Moon and Full Moon gatherings this month. If you don’t RSVP, they won’t happen. Same with the Dance Leader Training program.

Don’t bake bread, cookies, cake, apples, lasagna or quiche when it’s this hot. No pastry is worth the extra heat in the house.

Cold fruit and veggie concoctions truly can sustain you through the summer… well… those plus coffee.

Just take all those Happy Heart Farm CSA veggies and put them in the blender. Green smoothies, HURRAY!

Call or e-mail me to RSVP for events and/or to get a suggested list of ingredients for delicious, nutritious and disturbingly colored blended food!

Happy St. Augustine Day, August 28th! We wouldn’t have Catholicism without him.

Cheers!

P.S. Since the word “buttooschk” isn’t in the dictionary, I feel empowered to spell it however I want.
