Dear Friends,
What a pleasure to indulge in these last few weeks of blistering heat along the Front Range! Are you loving it? Relishing it? Soaking it up like solar panels in preparation for darker, colder seasons?
Here’s what’s cooking, so to speak:
1. Dance Leader Cooperative Meeting – Thursday, August 11th, 6 PM – 1401 W Vine Dr, Ft Collins – ALL ARE WELCOME – this meeting will be a time for shaping, planning, prepping, and co-creating a dance program for NEXT week – $5 to $20 suggested donation (do you like the BIG range of possibility?)
2. Fort Collins Dance of Universal Peace – Thursday, August 11th – 7:30 PM – 1401 W Vine – I will be leading – $10 suggested donation
3. Dancing and Sufi-ing in La Veta! – All three of these events will be held at the Methodist Church (416 S Main St, La Veta, CO) – All are welcome!
***Friday, August 12th – 7 PM – Dances of Universal Peace ($10 to $20 suggested)
***Saturday, August 13th – 10 AM to 1 PM – Sufi Intensive (that’s what it’s called… sounds serious, eh?) – a class, workshop, exploration of Ruhaniat Sufism including wazifa practice, breath concentration, simultaneously informative and amusing anecdotes! ($25 to $40 suggested)
***Saturday, August 13th – 2:30 PM – Dances of Universal Peace ($10 to $20 suggested)
4. Sufi Meditation – Monday, August 15th – 9:30 AM – 2727 Alan St, FC
5. Fort Collins Cooperatively Led Dance of Universal Peace – Thursday, August 18th – 7:30 PM – 1401 W Vine – $10 suggested donation – this evening will be led by the group of you who show up to prepare for it August 11th… leaders, please arrive by 6:30 to review, polish up, and do final preparations for this dance.
6. ZIKR!! – We LOVE ZIKR!!! – Saturday, August 20th – 7 PM – 1939 S Monroe St, Denver – $10 suggested donation and dessert potluck. Please bring something scrumptious to share!
7. SUPER CHANT!!! – Sunday, August 21st – 4 PM to 10 PM – 1401 W Vine Dr, Ft Collins – VEGETARIAN POTLUCK (please bring something VEGETARIAN to share… food and/or drinks) – we’ll sing, sing, sing, and have a lovely community supper, and sing, sing, sing some more! – $15 to $40 suggested donation
8. Sufi Meditation – Monday, August 22nd – 9:30 AM – my house…
9. Fort Collins Dance – Thursday, August 25th – 7:30 PM – $10 suggested donation – I’ll be leading
10. Esoteric Sufi Class – Saturday, August 27th – 7 PM – 1939 S Monroe St, Denver – diving into the Sufi Ruhaniat as a living lineage… exploring the practices of Dances of Universal Peace, Wazifa concentrations, breath work, prayers, teachings of the Murshids… – All are welcome! – $10 to $20 suggested donation – I would love RSVPs so I can know what to expect for participants.
