You know, this whole “Sufi” thing is a little hard to grok. I found my way to it through the Dances, and eventually became more dedicated to the actual teachings, practices, and lineage. I’ve been meandering along the Sufi path for 31 years now (informally), and with more explicit engagement for 21 years (as a mureed). It is a continual, life-long path of learning, practice, and discovery. For me, it works very nicely and harmoniously with my Pagan tendencies, Nature and the Goddess at the center. For many others, it works nicely and harmoniously with Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and even Atheism. Every so often it occurs to me that a beginner level Sufi class could be useful. Want it? Curious? Interested? Raring to go? Let’s do it!
Here’s the idea:
A monthly Sufi class focused on the basics, the central Sufi thoughts, traditions, teachings, practices, and purpose.
Thids class will be open for all levels of experience. It’ll be open on a drop-in basis for the first few months. I might choose to close it into a more focused group if that feels supportive for individuals who want to settle more fully into study and practice.
If you choose to join this class, please arrive on time, and plan to be fully attentive, engaged, camera on, and participating.
There is no fee for this class, but if you appreciate it and find it useful, I invite you to send monetary gratitude through Venmo or Paypal: rain@trigoddess.org
TIMING:
2nd Friday mornings of each month starting…
December 13th (Yep, Friday the 13th! It’s an auspicious, beautiful, magical time! Look it up if you’re curious.)
10 a.m. Mountain (5 p.m. UTC)
I think this will be a 75 minute zoom with a little wiggle room if we need to go a few minutes longer.
The teachings and practices will primarily focus on the Sufi Message as offered by Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan. I will do my best to answer questions, and explain things clearly and thoroughly.
I don’t know yet whether these will be recorded and made available beyond the meeting time. We shall see.
If you have questions before the 13th, feel free to be in touch.
